Do you find a change in the way the kids lived back in the 90’s and the way they live now? Guess What. Everybody does. A lot has changed since the 90’s. Earlier people spent most of their time outdoors. But now, everybody loves to be indoors, busy with their phones, laptops, and what not.
1. Internet Speed
We have witnessed a huge leap in the speed of internet from 90’s to today, ranging from dial-up connections to 4G and even 5G in other countries. While kids were mostly not allowed to use the internet back then, today you will find almost no kid without the knowledge of the internet.
2. The Games back then vs. now
There is an enormous difference between the games kids used to play back then vs the games they play now. Back then kids mostly preferred to play outdoors. But now, kids prefer to stay indoors. They are mostly stuck to electronics like mobile phones.
3. TV shows
Our childhood memories are full of nostalgic TV shows like Soan Pari, Shaka Laka Boom Boom, Hatim, Dexter’s Laboratory, Powerpuff Girls, you name it as the list is endless. But the genre of today’s kids shows is completely different.
4. Electronic gadgets
Back in the 90’s, kids were not a gadget freak. All they could afford was a Walkman. But today’s kids are definitely more gadget freak. Many of them can beat their seniors when it comes to gadget usage. They love exploring new gadgets.
5. Fashion sense
The 90’s kids had a completely different fashion sense compared to today’s. Back then, color combination was different along with the accessories different. Today they are a lot more aware of fashion sense.
6. Sense of responsibility
The way kids handle the responsibility has changed over the years.
Kids back in the 90’s were more sensible and obedient. Although there can be a good big debate over this topic, the majority of the people will find it rightly true enough. Blame the generation, but it’s the ultimate truth.
8. Chuddy-Buddy Gangs
Every kid had this group of friends called the Chuddy-Buddy gang where the friendship is such that one can even die for the other! But with the passing years, we have lost that essence of friendship. It has become moreover fake or maybe virtual.
They had various physical forms of punishments which are abolished by now due to obvious reasons. Kids these days are freer from physical punishments but are burdened with mental pressure.
Kids back in the 90’s enjoyed the rich company of friends. They were seen almost all day long hanging out, hand in hand, without the fear of the atrocities of the world. But today they are more into being on their own and friendship has just remained a materialistic thing to own.
11. Capturing moments
Kids back in 90’s captured moments with their naked eyes as this was the only option they had. But today they will be seen recording those moments rather than living them.
Schooling was pretty different back in the 90’s. No smart classes were present back then. After schooling, they were more interested making groups, eating Gol Gappa, playing nearby, more of physical activities. But today they are already overburdened with academics.
